The Bohr Effect: The higher concentration of carbon dioxide (created by the muscles exertion) attracts oxygen to the muscles that need it the most.22 But for those who are mouth breathers or upper chest breathers, there is an excessive loss of carbon dioxide from breathing which leads to poor cellular oxygenation therefore reduced athletic performance.17 By normalizing breathing through the nose every cell in your body will stand a better chance of being optimally oxygenated.4,5,6

Mature 3 to 4 year old mouth breathers can learn nasal breathing.

A mentally prepared 5 year old can begin the Oral Habit Elimination Program.

A 7 to 8 year old and up can start the Oral-Facial Advantage Program.
